Trauma Therapy, EMDR & Counseling for Professionals, Military Families & LGBTQIA+ Clients in Maryland
Victoria Norris, LCPC, CCTP, EMDR Trained
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), a Certified Trauma Professional, and a clinician trained in EMDR. I build a collaborative, warm, empathetic, and compassionate working relationship with every client I see.
One of my central goals in therapy is to meet clients where they are—not where societal expectations or biases believe they should be. Each person is unique, and so is their story. My treatment approach honors that individuality and focuses on helping clients move toward healing in ways that feel authentic and empowering.
I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity development, and major life transitions. Many clients who find me through Darby Integrative Counseling are seeking therapy that integrates evidence-based approaches with a compassionate, collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Trauma Therapy & EMDR in Maryland
I specialize in the treatment of trauma-related disorders and have advanced training and certification in trauma-informed care.
Trauma can affect the nervous system, relationships, and how we see ourselves and the world. Through therapy, we work together to process these experiences and reduce their emotional impact.
I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer feel overwhelming.
You can learn more about this approach on our EMDR Therapy Services page.
Trauma therapy may help with:
• PTSD and complex trauma
• childhood trauma
• relationship trauma
• intrusive memories
• negative self-beliefs
• emotional regulation challenges
Therapy for Anxiety, Depression & OCD
Many clients seek therapy to better manage anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive patterns that interfere with daily life.
I frequently work with individuals experiencing:
• generalized anxiety
• depression
• obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
• chronic worry
• emotional overwhelm
• life stressors
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques, we develop practical skills that help clients understand thought patterns, regulate emotions, and respond to challenges more effectively.
You can explore additional services offered by our practice on the Therapy Services page.
Somatic & Mind-Body Therapy
Healing often requires addressing both the mind and body.
I incorporate somatic therapy approaches that help clients reconnect with their bodies and nervous systems. These methods can be particularly helpful for trauma recovery and emotional regulation.
Our practice also integrates mind-body approaches across several specialties offered at Darby Integrative Counseling, including trauma-informed and integrative psychotherapy.
Military & Veteran Mental Health Support
I have a deep passion for working with military service members, veterans, and military families.
Military life often includes unique stressors, including:
• deployment transitions
• reintegration into civilian life
• family adjustment challenges
• trauma and operational stress
My goal is to provide a supportive and culturally informed environment for those navigating the complexities of military life.
Perinatal, Postpartum & Fertility Counseling
Pregnancy, fertility journeys, and early parenthood can be emotionally complex experiences.
I support individuals navigating:
• pregnancy-related anxiety
• postpartum depression
• postpartum anxiety
• fertility challenges
• identity shifts during parenthood
