Monique is a licensed practitioner serving adolescents, adults, and underrepresented populations, including Afro-Caribbean and LatinX communities. She has two decades of experience working with those impacted by emotional and physical trauma, crisis intervention, as well as, having worked closely with children, adolescents including those with special needs and who are considered high-risk populations.
Monique holds a M.Ed. in Education/School Counseling from Bowie State University and a BA from Central Connecticut State University where she majored in Communications and minored in Special Education and Deaf Studies. She is certified as a trauma specialist. Monique’s use of eclectic approaches, when working with individuals, couples, and groups, enables clients to reflect, acknowledge and achieve set goals. Cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, spirituality and mindfulness techniques are just a few of the theories and practices utilized to encourage and support wellness.
Monique is originally from Connecticut. In her free time, she loves baking, gardening, and spending time with her husband and two sons. She makes binge-watching crime docuseries on Netflix a consistent part of her weekend routine.
